FHS Student Named to State Council

Fitzgerald High School Principal Dawn Clements (left) congratulates student Austin Futch on being selected to serve on State School
Superintendent Richard Woods’ 2016-2017 Student Advisory Council. He is one of 108 middle and high school students chosen. During this
school year, the council will meet with the superintendent to discuss the impact of state policies on the classroom. More than 800 students
applied to serve on the council. Students were chosen based on the strength of essay answers focused on their ideas for public education
and ways their own educational experience could be improved. Austin isthe state vice president of the Technology Student Association.
